Text: ```1 Kings 17:8-10 AMP Then the word of the Lord came to him, saying, “Arise, go to Zarephath, which belongs to Sidon, and stay there. Behold, I have commanded a widow there to provide for you.” So he set out and went to Zarephath, and when he came to the gate of the city, behold, a widow was there gathering sticks [for firewood]. He called out to her and said, “Please bring me a little water in a jar, so that I may drink.”```
COMMENTARY
Elijah did not place his life on the brook but hung his life and future on the word of God. So he waited on God to hear the next thing God has to say to him. Faith Capital is enough to start with, be sustained on and complete all your projects on. Your business and possessions should not inform your opinion on what sufficiency is all about. Whenever you feel scarcity what is your usual reactions? Do you not always blame it on yourself or on some other person?
Scarcity is not always a product of our decision. Perhaps Elijah would have start blaming himself for allowing himself to leave town to go and hide in the brook area. Having followed God's will, having followed prophetic word of God. He resolved to also look up to God for answer to the current state of things around him.
Our generation need tough skinned believers that would glue to what God has said and never giving room for pressure or anything. There was scorching heat of famine in the land but it didn't reduce Elijah's commitment to God. Most times believers in our generation are driven by trends in the society. How close you are to the word of God will determine your reactions to whatever is trending. Prophecy of great future will come but the rough road and battles you will fight on the way to making the prophecy a reality won't be revealed. The joy of the crown ahead should poise your passion to remain resolute until you enter into your promise. Never contemplate giving up or compromising your faith. Elijah was sustained on faith capital. He didn't have any financial capital.
Food for thought:
It is not the financial capital that you need for sustenance but it is faith capital._
Prayer:
```Guide me and help my faith to be boosted Lord. My financial Capital is not dependable but you are sufficient and everything to me Lord. Help my heart to think God more than I take thought about my possessions in Jesus name.```
