Text:
```I Samuel 1:5-7 NKJV
But to Hannah he would give a double portion, for he loved Hannah, although the Lord had closed her womb. And her rival also provoked her severely, to make her miserable, because the Lord had closed her womb. So it was, year by year, when she went up to the house of the Lord, that she provoked her; therefore she wept and did not eat.```
COMMENTARY
One of the hard moment to navigate through in life is a moment of mockery. Your head would be down and you would feel heavy like a vulture soaked in the rain. If you are walking to pass through a crowd, you will feel heaviness of your head as if your head and trunk are heavier than your legs to carry. Hannah the would be mother of a great Prophet journeyed on this lonely road of mockers before arriving at the birth of uncommon Prophet. When what you carry is probably too glorious, mockery would attack you like a monster to discourage and pressurize you to quit.
Assuming Hannah became aggressive, and exchanging words with her co wife Peninnah, would the result still be the same? What amount of arguments or defences should she have put up to clear her shame and insult in the society? Divine invisible hand rested on Hannah and triggered her into doing what ordinary woman wouldn't have done. Do you think it was a common thing to shed such tears with groaning early hours of the day? Do you think it is ordinary flesh would guide you into fasting? While people were celebrating, eating and drinking, Hannah did not eat but with fasting, weeping and praying stood before God to negotiate her future.
When you have a future, don't engage in exchange of words to reply insults and mockery. Manage your emotions carefully and face God in prayers, travail negotiating your future than wasting time with your adversaries. Hannah understood through insight that great things are ahead of her. One of the things that would guide you to avoid the avoidable is revelational knowledge. If you have revelations about the future, then you can face the future and hit the access gates until it's open.
Food for thought:
Mockery motivates people to grow in intimacy with their maker.
Prayer:
```Help me Lord to manage my mockery, nurture my visions to grow into a testimony.```
